About Us
The OIOTA Family Foundation was established in 2023 by Harry and Dr. Taiye Osawe’s family after a life-changing experience volunteering in underprivileged communities. During their time working with the vulnerable population, the Osawe were deeply moved by the resilience of the individuals they encountered, but also troubled by the vast unmet needs they witnessed.
From children going hungry to adults struggling with untreated mental illnesses and lack of access to education, the cycle of poverty and its effects were all too apparent. The Osawe family realized that with their resources and entrepreneurial backgrounds, they could create an organization to have a meaningful, sustained impact on these issues.
What started as an annual donation commitment soon grew into the OIOTA Family Foundation's comprehensive initiatives. The Foundation takes a holistic approach in providing crucial resources like food, clean water, clothing, shelter, and health services through education, while also empowering individuals through counseling, skills training, academic support and more.
While the Foundation's efforts are globally minded, it has a special focus on underprivileged population in the Osawe's hometown of Los Angeles and surrounding communities. By uplifting local families, children, and underserved groups. The OIOTA Family Foundation aims to break cycles of disadvantage and create a model for other communities to establish sustainable change.
